The Barberton and Southern Railroad Company (BSR) was incorporated on September 5, 1899. The company’s President was George G. Perkins. Under his leadership, the BSR constructed and operated a 1.7 mile line from the Cleveland, Akron and Columbus Railway near the Diamond Brick Works at Barberton to a connection with the Erie Railroad near the Alden Rubber Company’s plant. This property was conveyed to the Akron & Barberton Belt Railroad Company, April 26, 1905.
