The Diamond Match Company factory in Barberton, Ohio. Diamond match, built in part by the work of Ohio Columbus Barber (1841-1920)
became one of the majormatch manufacturing companies in America. In 1910, the Company patented the first nonpoisonous match made in the U.S. The new match used a safe chemical called Phosphorus sesquisulfide.
