How To Paint A House Cheap

These were the familiar words that started so many of J. K. Robinson‘s Carrara Paint Company ads.  Each time the headline was followed by a detailed promotion of Carrara paint.  At the start of the 20th century, Carrara was a big name in the paint industry. Carrara’s distinctive advertisements helped to drive its popularity.  They could be seen in the leading national magazines of the day.

The National Network

The company maintained a network of distributors and agents across the country to handle orders, but in the case none was near you, Carrara sold paint by mail-order. Major institutions that trusted Carrara included the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Pullman Palace Car Co., the Chicago Telephone Company, and even the United States Post Office.
