The Barberton Belt Line Railroad Company (BBL) was incorporated on March 19, 1891, with Ohio C. Barber as President. This Company began construction of the line from the Barberton Strawboard Factory to a connection with the Erie Railroad, a distance of 2.1 miles. Work was not completed before the BBL was consolidated with The Barberton, Akron and Eastern Belt Line Railway Company and The Cleveland, Barberton and Western Railroad Company to form The Akron & Barberton Belt Railroad Company on May 6, 1902.
